Me thinks..

The last two days have been a study in the case ' Shop Till you Drop'..
It was only last night that I realized how tired I was and snuggled up into bed early at 9:30..
Lists were drawn couple of days back and the fact that I had missed Art classes over the weekend did not help my case.. With a five panel painting having to be completed by the weekend , we were in action from the word go..
A scrumptious breakfast of Doasa and Semiya Payasam at Uma Pmas.. A quick trip to the gym to transfer my membership.. And we were off.
Did something we have been planning for a while now. Started at the beginning of CMH road and visited every shop on the landscape.. Cheap deals were analyzed and decisions made..
Lunch at Parikas .. Real yummy Biryani after a long long time.. More shopping .. Coffee at Glorias. We really liked the place. The Coffee was great. Subu thought it was the perfect place for a date.
Recharged we shopped again ..All the way into the evening. When we got back it was past 7:00. Luckily we were given loads of yummy food..neatly packed . It saved us the trouble of cooking for the night.

Thu, we left for a quick breakfast of idlies and hot coffee.. A three hour session at my painting class.. Met up for Lunch with S at Brigades. He so loved 'Mast Kalandar'. Of course thought of Rumzie while having our meal. This is the place we jointly discovered during one of our marathon art sessions. Oh yeah the Smoked baigan bartha was back on the menu..! Wonderful!
Hot Coffee at Barista to the rescue :)
This time the focus was on foot wear.. So off to Commercials..
Luckily found everything we wanted..
Back in Indranagar.. Trousers and Misc .. Travel Gear.. and we head back.....

Ha...That was tiring work :)

As Adorable can BEEEEEEE..

Me thinks..

Just discovered that my ten year old cousin has a facebook account.. Funny! All it took was for him to put down his birth date as 8th Jan 1982... That makes him almost as old as me :)
Now am seriously concerned about security.. is the present generation growing up too quickly..
Well these questions can never be answered.. Theres always this time drift.. Gaps between generations.. Think the no of years it takes to separate one generation from the next is shrinking..maybe in the near future every year will be a new generation ..Hmmmmmmm...

Watched pulp fiction a while ago ...I just didnt get it!.. The entire movie..Have always maintained that am bit of a tubelight.. But now I dont think it was me at all.. I just think its one of those movies that everyone pretends to understand just to look cool .." Oh did you watch Pulp Fiction.. Such a great movie Isnt it?"...
" Yeah I loved it"...
" Yeah Right!... Am sure inside ur head ..............................." (Well am not going to say the rest.. if you have an I understood pulp fiction IQ level, then you would get the dots... Thats it!!!!)

Shopping... Lets play guess the adjectives on my mind..
Fun..
Wonderful..
Colorful..
Fantastic..

Stressful?????????????...

So Far Yet So Near..

I love orkut, facebook, gtalk, skype..you name it ..I love them all
Yeah there are stupid people putting stupid status messages all over the place.. "I just had breakfast", "I just had lunch".. "I had a power nap".. "I hate red"..
You could call it Pseudo socializing , The obsession of a otherwise alone generation or anything else you want to..
You can yell about the lack of privacy and being bombarded with information, pictures and whatever else you can think of..
You might wonder why being poked is such a big thing..
Or you can cry out for the lack of time for any of these ..

But.. In the span of 2-3 years I've got back in touch with so many people who once crossed my path and who I never imagined would make an appearance in my life again..
I've found that a two liner telling someone far away about something you want to says more than a painstakingly typed out mail (though now I've mastered the art of laconic mails with some people who get them instantly)..
And I've found that web cams can instantly transport you across miles to any place you want to go..
The world is getting smaller :)).. me is loving it!

Red Bus..

Its Hard to live in Bangalore and not fall in love with the 'Red Bus'..
Yeah the traffic is terrible, the roads are a nightmare, there are no lanes for us to even get started on lane rules, ..BUT, the shining light is when you see the Red Bus moving towards your stop.
All you need to do is get in and once you're inside it doesn't matter what the world outside is like.. You'll find yourself gracefully gliding through the traffic. Did someone say Potholes?.. Well inside the Red bus who cares :)

On a serious note, the best thing BMTC did was introduce the Red Line of Volvo buses in Bangalore. It not only changed the face of public transport, but also made it more comfortable than any other means available. BMTC added 39 more buses to the existing 111 making it the proud owner of the largest fleet of Volvo buses in the Country. Sadly I see these buses empty at times. This is especially true of the Vaayu Vajra which is a ride to the airport. It would be great to see people use these rather than cabs. A Good Public transport system will go a long way in decreasing pollution and decongesting roads. But that would depend on all of us and out willingness to actually use Buses as opposed to other means available :)
So Guys.. Get on the Red Bus! :)

Neha Renish..

The shiny black new lappy arrived yesterday.. Skype was duely installed :). So I go on and add all my contacts. Just as I finish my phone rings and there Vinu.. Haven't spoken to her in ageeeees.. But She wasn't the star attraction.. Just behind her was this tiny lil thing in a pink Frock..Neha Renish , all of one with the naughtiest expression :).. It was so wonderful watching her in action. She seemed pretty excited and kept coming close to the screen to have a look at me. Vinu explained that she was excited to see me , a new face. How Adorable. Loved her little voice pointing to things and saying 'Adhee'. :))..
Suddenly everyone disappears from view.. All I could hear were voices in the background.. And then it settles.. Vinu explains that she actually managed to lift the laptop and put it down in a different place :)..Hahahaha..
Before I forget.. Happy Birthday Vinu! :)..
Neha really did make my day :))

Feeling blue?..

Why are the Blues called the 'Blues'.. There most definitely is a correlation between colors and moods.. But.. I rarely ever feel Blue when am Blue.. Feel more Greyish.. Sometimes Even Black or a sleepy shade of pink.. Hmmm!
Someone makes up something and then everyone ends up following it..Such is Language..

Whats the color of Happiness? I say Yellow...
And Anger... Most definitely Red! Theres universal Agreement that its the color of Hunger.. And the Bride!! .. And..? ..Still Thinking.. Maybe even Wrath.. Are Anger and Wrath the same thing
Blue... The clear skies.. Most definitely a Calm Clear Blue..
Is Grey the color of Blue ? ;)

Bangalore Traffic, Diwali and More..

If theres something that really irritates me, its people driving on pavements. I had to glare at a cyclist riding by with a calm look on his face and totally at ease that hes not part of the static traffic.. It was only when I refused to move from his path that he realized that I meant business.
I continued walking with the same calm look that he had worn a moment ago..
Somewhere he understood that Footpaths really were 'FOOTPATHS' and reluctantly got off..
If you ride a two wheeler and you take to the footpath every now and then please don't..
You are endangering pedestrians.. It could be someone from your family walking there..
A friend of mine is starting an initiative called 'Bangalore Traffic Citizens Initiative'.. Do sign up !

Time is flying.. Between drawing lists and executing them I seem to have lost track of all time..
Since Diwali is here I've decided to hand paint Diyas for friends and family like I did last time..
Maybe this time I'll try my hand at a few sweets.
For years now I haven't bought any crackers.. Why? Cos I can put all that money in my travel fund.. Cos Am against Child Labor..Cos I really don't want to breathe in the fumes and will do my bit towards reducing pollution.. Think about it :)

Happy Diwali Guys.. !
